Heh, you are lucky. I've got some description for ITM format. :)
If you send me an e-mail, I can send the description to you.

Donīt worry, i already assumed that would be the case when i saw the huge work behind CF.

I only want to create a simple W8 import library to Unity to enhance my Meshes/Models/3D skills, just for educational purposes.

I usually only work with sprites or simple meshes so when i was thinking at what educational project to create, i instantly remember wizardry8 and i started looking for info.

You could give me at least some info for ITM files? at least the coords system for each vertex "line", so i can create the mesh and apply the material/texture.

Thanks!

Hmmm, why exactly do you need to do what you are doing?

Aside from that you guessed most of the stuff right.
ITM is item model.
MON is monster model.
OCT is OCTree data and more.
PVL is Terrain Meshes and more.
RLK some sort of linkage or mapping helping to render less, but I was not able to reverse-engineering it and just wipe it out (empty it) when Location is edited.
STS is probably for STATs: traps, chests and other props are here.
WPT - waypoint file, for monsters to navigate.

I don't like sharing stuff I worked hard on.
Already shared W7 stuff with one guy, and he refused to tell me anything and I haven't heard from him since. Kind of not good. :(

Hi IronArthur.
I'm unaware of any specs about W8 data and formats. Except maybe for the SLF and STI formats, but those aren't that interesting. Would be nice to take a look at the code - I could fix a few things in CF.

Right now i was trying to reverse ITM files( item meshes), using CF as info source (it shows a lot of info of the vertex but i donīt know how the coords system is presented in the binary file).
If iīm not mistaken this are the files that CF reads right now?
Maps:
OCT (Map Terrain meshes?)
PVL
RLK (i think this one is not used)
STS
WPT

Items:
ITM

Mosters:
MON

If you could post the structs you use to read them would be HUGE help.

Thanks!

Hi,

I donīt want to be rude but i know you reverse engineered most of the file formats from Wizardry 8. That file format spec is available in some form? Most of the info i found is how to import/export from cosmic to another software but nothing about the W8 format.

Iīm trying to import them to Unity for educational purposes, so i was trying to find some info on the format with no success so far.

Thanks anyway, and Cosmis Forge is an amazing software btw!.

No problem, it is not very obvious. Do you also play W7? CF has a suite of patches for W7 that makes gameplay very different from what it was and changes the classes and races balance. You might want to check it out.

Also I remember CF has some patches for W6 too, but not that many. Do you use any of them?

I actually bought W7 as a kid not long after it came out, but I never got very far. I'll give it a play through one of these days. I'm aware that it's a much bigger game than W6.

I haven't played around to much with the W6 patches. Mainly just the bug fixes such as the CC bug fix and the poison level fix you implemented.

I feel like such an idiot!! I never realised the drop down lists were there, right in front of me!!
They do indeed show all of the loot that is potentially for sale, along with their percentage chances.

It's definitely A for Wiz6, the items for sale don't change over time, but have a random chance each time you visit the NPC, as reflected by the percentage next to the combobox.

Cheers again for you help mad god. It's become a sort of tradition of mine to play W6 from start to finish every couple of years, and Cosmic Forge makes the game much more enjoyable! Thanks for this awesome program
