But the way. Did you know you can attach CF to a running game of "W7 Dos" and have automap working. ;)
Save File Viewer allows it.
You can also see the progress of a combat, if interested, for for that put a good delay in W7's settings, otherwise you won't be able to notice much. :)

Oh ok. I have that option activated as well I just didn't understand the implication that it was a replacement for the old system. I'm still early on in the game so I will see how it goes. Thank you so much for the quick response! The editor is awesome especially for many of the bug fixes like the fighter damage bug. I remember playing wiz 7 many years ago and not understanding why my fighters popped like balloons. I think at the time I assumed it was some bug with the copy protection. It must have been missed in testing since so many people just spam roll until they get a samurai straight out the gate.

I believe, the old fix has been removed. It would use only 1 missile to shoot 4 arrows. It was silly. I just wanted to fix the ranged weapons, because they were at a disadvantage.

So, now, attack per round makes it better:
~ When fighting with one Throwing or Long Weapon, a Character has the following number of Attacks (based on Attacks per Round):
1 at 1
2 at 2
3 at 3
4 at 4

That's it.
So you get full attacks instead of silly this:
~ When fighting with one Weapon, a Character has the following number of Attacks (based on Attacks per Round):
1 at 1
1 at 2
2 at 3
2 at 4


The swing per missile attack is still 1, I think.
You can experiment though, but the patches' descriptions should be the source of truth.

I have a quick question concerning range combat swings per attack. On the Cosmic Forge history page it says that the Swings per Attack limit of Shoot & Throw patch was "no longer supported' but on the main page it says this: "Patch for the Ranged Combat ('Swings per Attack'). Changed the combat algorithm, so all ranged attacks also can have more than one swing per attack (as melee attacks). Be warned though that the Monsters will get the same benefit!"

Honestly, don't remember and have not time to figure out now.
You can test it yourself.
Have character of level 15 or so fight against a monster of level 6 to 10.
Use a damaging magic item against it 10 times and write down the damages.
Then switch you character's class to something, so you've got 1st level.

Hi,
I got a question about wiz8 reforged 1.1 because i noticed that U were working upon this mod. Whats the best way to run it? I ran it on gog version but with newest nglide and i got big fps drop in added location locations. Also tried dgVoodoo2 but graphics looks quite obsolete (blurry in the distance). Also sometimes Madras is dudded with rattkin rakuza voices:). But the dll injections seems to work fine even with gog exe.

I got a question: Will Wiz8 Cosmic Forge patches work fine with Wiz8 reforged 1.1?
Not very important issue: When i run Automap mod with combat display patch game crashes every time i start combat with message "Stack overflow increase stack size".

I really am not aware of any CF patches for W8...

I got one more question: When I am importing party frm wiz7 to wiz8 there are 2 files: one with enxtension END and another one with CAC. Which one should be imported? END?

END, I would assume. You can just try both in turn. ;)
